All I want is to go home to work on this!

I've been pretty good about not starting new projects until I've finished what is already on my plate, but I was compelled this week to start cutting the squares for my Dad's quilt.  I'm participating in the Sparkle Punch Quilt-Along hosted by Elizabeth Hartman, whose work has been my primary inspiration since I started quilting and sewing a year ago.

I need to buy some more fabrics for the mix, but you can get a good idea of the colors by looking at what I've done so far. I'm aiming for all the colors of soil and sea.

Rose Star #4

Getting closer to completing this project! One more full star to go, then two half stars... then all the little bits of negative space between them... okay, I'm not really close to done now that I think about it.

I am pleased that my trigonometry course, while demanding, is not as huge of a time sink as I had anticipated.  I will still have enough time for all my crafty endeavors.

I really hope these all go together well enough.

Two down. Three more to go. But now... I must attend to my trigonometry homework.

A needlebook!

I made this last night using the Quilted Needle Case Tutorial from Sew She Sews.  I machine stitched the binding instead of hand sewing it, and I'm not pleased with the way it looks on the inside.  Oh well.  No such thing as a perfect project.  I love it despite its flaws.  I have enough fabric left to make a matching little zippered pouch to hold my hexagons and other English Paper Piecing projects.  It should fit in the right hand pocket. (These pockets have a matching white and red polka dot lining, but I can't seem to get a good picture of it.)

Rosy beginnings.

I'm going with a grey, green, teal, brown, and navy color scheme.  I plan on making a wall hanging that coordinates with the spiderweb quilt I just made.

I wish this were four times larger, but I just didn't have it in me. Nonetheless, I am very pleased with the way it looks on my bedroom wall.

My current obsession.

I've begun cutting a million little bits of paper so that I can take part in the Rose Star Paper Piece Quilt Block Party. Pictures forthcoming.
