I created two mosaics of my interpretation of Washed Earth from the fabrics at Pink Chalk Fabrics. Autumn is my favorite time of year, and I'm increasingly attracted to neutral palettes, especially shades of gray mixed with muted blues or browns. The prize is a bundle of fat quarters made of the fabrics in the mosaic. Wish me luck!

Here are my two entries.
I found a 20% off coupon for Fabric.com and ordered every print in the collection, plus some Kona cotton because one can never have too much of that, no? Here are some of my favorite projects using Chicopee from the Flickr-verse.

I'm not even sure what kind of quilt I'm going to make with it since there are so many wonderful options. I don't think I have it in me to do another English Paper Piecing project, but we'll see.
The pattern is Elizabeth Hartman's Sparkle Punch Quilt.

My wonderful husband made this design wall for me out of cotton batting and soundboard. I really should be working on trigonometry homework now, but I'm screwing around on the internet for a few moments instead.

I have new paper-pieced stars to post and other pretty pictures to share, but instead I think I'll do a few equations and call it a day. I'll leave you with a few of my recent Flickr faves. I get so much inspiration from all these wonderfully creative folks whom I will likely never meet. Thank you, Internet.
I'm participating in the Sparkle Punch Quilt-Along hosted by Elizabeth Hartman, whose work has been my primary inspiration since I started quilting and sewing a year ago.

I need to buy some more fabrics for the mix, but you can get a good idea of the colors by looking at what I've done so far. I'm aiming for all the colors of soil and sea.
Getting closer to completing this project! One more full star to go, then two half stars... then all the little bits of negative space between them... okay, I'm not really close to done now that I think about it.

I am pleased that my trigonometry course, while demanding, is not as huge of a time sink as I had anticipated. I will still have enough time for all my crafty endeavors.
I made this last night using the Quilted Needle Case Tutorial from Sew She Sews. I machine stitched the binding instead of hand sewing it, and I'm not pleased with the way it looks on the inside. Oh well. No such thing as a perfect project. I love it despite its flaws. I have enough fabric left to make a matching little zippered pouch to hold my hexagons and other English Paper Piecing projects. It should fit in the right hand pocket. (These pockets have a matching white and red polka dot lining, but I can't seem to get a good picture of it.)
I'm going with a grey, green, teal, brown, and navy color scheme. I plan on making a wall hanging that coordinates with the spiderweb quilt I just made.Treehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08116225977488180681noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5243021844123345116.post-47754791723782860642012-01-10T10:38:00.001-08:002012-01-10T10:38:19.681-08:00Spiderweb Wall Quilt

Spiderweb Wall Quilt, a photo by Tree Casiano on Flickr.

I wish this were four times larger, but I just didn't have it in me.
